Formerly of Starwood Capital Group ($95bn AUM / Chief of Staff to Founder & CEO, Barry Sternlicht / Hotel Acquisitions), Joe launched Tobin Capital Group as a tech-enabled, vertically-integrated real estate private equity firm focused on self-storage in the Western U.S. To date, the firm has $100m+ of AUM.

Joe has an MBA from the Stanford GSB and a Masters of Global Affairs at Tsinghua University in Beijing as a Schwarzman Scholar. Additionally, Joe graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with a degree in Spanish & Portuguese Literature & Culture, focusing on identity narratives in Spanish, German, and Mexican film.  At Princeton, Joe was a walk-on athlete on both the Varsity Football (Outside Linebacker, 1 Year) and Varsity Crew (3 Years).
